-paleta roughs-new digital roughs

-color and concept-green white red. this top logo states Mexico, but our look/concept is like a Mexican fiesta, im missing the party fun appeal.
-the bottom rough was concept comes from a Mayan calendar i found on the web, this too is in reference to Mexico, but again, missing our "fiesta" feel. I do like the look of the bottom logo despite the lack of the "party time" factor.

paletopia

As a group, we choose this name for our paletas. We were to come up with individual logos for our company. Before i got started on these, i didn't think how w were going to brand our product, i went went for digital  roughs, without thinking. As a result, my logo roughs, don't look bad, but they do not gasp an authentic feel to them. I'm still posting them because i did spent quite some time on them.


The next batch of logos will look totally different from what they are now, i like my color scheme, but if it doesn't work, i will have to change it, or just make the colors brighter, there is so much more research that has to be done.

There is an old legend that says that the Aztec emperors had people who would bring ice from the Popocatépetl volcano and that they would eat it mixed with fruits, but none of this actually comes from a reliable written source. What we know is that during the Viceregal times, ice was regulated and monopolized by the Spanish crown, making people pay very high taxes to have access to it.

After Mexico became independent from Spain in 1810, this taxation was lifted, and there was a democratization of the ice market. More people had access to it and therefore, more people experimented with it.

    • We will be selling authentic paletas to the Belmont community, by educating them on this ethnic frozen fruit popsicle.
    • We will be operating our business from a beach side community along the strip on 2nd and ocean st.

Location : Belmont Shore
    • Belmont shore spans 2nd street and Southern Avenue near the southern most part of the city. 
    • The neighborhood features Spanish-style homes from the 1920s and 30's as well as beach bungalows. 
    • Each summer, Bayshore Avenue is closed to traffic and is converted into a pedestrian and bicycle-only zone.
    • Its eastern border includes Alamitos Bay Beach, an inland beach that faces Naples Island across a channel. The area offshore is popular with kite surfers, swimmers, kayakers, and boaters and for its Local seasonal events.

Flavor Ideas:

Paleta flavors can be divided in two categories: cream-based and water-based. Milk-based flavors are creamy in texture and traditionally include:
 vanillachocolaterumcoconutpecan/walnut (nuez), andarroz con leche, which is a type of rice pudding. Ice-based flavors include strawberrymangolimecucumberdill pickle, Jamaicacantaloupewatermelonpineappleguava, and tamarind. They are made from juices and sometimes include bits of frozen fruit. Although most flavors are sweetened with sugar, some are not, such as pepino con chile y limón (spicy cucumber with lime).

The Paleta Project

The Proposal -The majority of our community doesn’t know what a paleta is. We are here to bring authentic paletas to the local community in Torrance California. 
Product info-A paleta is a frozen ice bar made from fruit that comes in a multitude of natural flavors. Our palates have no artificial colors, or sugars added to them. On top of that, they are diabetic friendly, so everyone can enjoy this icy treat on a hot or cool day.
Product History-Paletas originate from Mexico and are becoming increasing popular in the United States
Location- Our company will be located across the street from El Camino College on the Manhattan Beach st. side. Since we are so close to school, our company will also be giving students discounts. 
The target market: Torrance locals (schools) will be located near college.
Ad ideas: flyers and posters posted throughout the campus and in local news paper
Student discounts will be given to those who qualify

the new rough doesn't have this typo. it was decided that fine wines was concluded to be the most important part in my new version, not true, so i minimized it.
