digital mural rounghs
took out the foot, the stripes will be red and green with instead, other parts of mural will include a home, factory, and holiday "cheer". adding the slogan top above the photo and under for text. adding holiday lights
mural roughs, and bus ads roungs
mural idea-stepping on the factories. its hurting the people, the stomp on it and out. its more of a fantasy, and the public should be pissed if and when they find out the local job factory gave them lead poisoning, which in fact already has.
-digital rough for first part of mural- this is a composite of 3 images, Shepperd Fairey styled-ish used colors he uses, red black, gold-yellows, but i didn't want it that dark
the other roughs, are dead children, children playing in with a factory in the back yard, but this aims to much toward just children. the may wood people should be alert!!!
the original idea was a poster and just and image of the plant, with text and a slogan, but the more i worked on it, the more it became visions of a mural
bus ad-slogan-
"THE MARTINS GOT LEAD POISONING FOR THE HOLIDAYS, WHAT DID YOU GET.???
ad will maybe have a bow on the side, slogan and a picture, maybe of a home or the family

poster-t-shirt- bus ads, if time a mural...
purpose
i want to do all of these. id place a mural image under all that grafitti, i think it would get attention. its right next to the park, and people would pass by it every day, on a bike or walkin.
the t-shirt could be passed around at schools, elementary, that would get the attention of school boards, and parents.
the bus ads get the attention of the workers coming home from the factories, while they sit or stand for about an hour to get home, the ads will open their eyes. if anything that has to do with their city, most would read about it and be alert
bus wrapper- walking, riding or biking, everyone will see this ad. not only maywood, but cities passing in maywood. they might not work in maywood, but they live there or go to school in the city. the same can be said about not working in the city, but your home is right next to a factories.

images id like to use for posters
i could place text across. (Sheppard Fairey style) the sky background would be the line stripes he uses.
this could be the poster image as well, all the info would be placed inside the walls, and text on the door
a couple of roughs of how i would sort the info

maywood intent-target market-facts
maywood california sits in the depts of 2000 thousand factories, which are also near schools and across the street from homes, parks, and the LA. river.
city population-close to 50,00 people, 98 percent are latino
Target market-The entire city, men women and children
medical waste, pesrtcides and hot dog factories are in the city, and shipped across the us.
Intent- My intent is to inform the city of maywood tha the factories are producing harmful chemicals that are seepin out into the air, thier clothes and posioning thier bodies. They need to know and get tested for any heavy metals and poisions they have been breathing possible al of thier lives Maywood mostly has small liquor stores/markets on everyother corner and hamburger, taco spots is a constant. Those are usually found across the strett from each other.
Plans of actions-i will create two posters, and post them across the city, under the la river, spalshed across the liquor stores, and posters, in those random taco and burger joints. Maywood also uses the bus system as a major means of trasportation, therfore i will creat and ad inside and out of the bus. The cars and beaware of the crisis they live in and the people on the bus can read whats going on in thier city. They need to know.I also want to make a re-usable bag bag and sell it in the mini markerts at a cheap price. The schools need to be informed as well, so maybe a mural or t-shirts they hand out at school assemblies and when the parents pic up thier children they can read and learn together the dangers the city hold, and the factories that are producing thier aillments.
A local Maywood family had already been diagnost with Arsenic-Cadmium-Chromium-Copper-Lead-Manganese-Mercury-Vanadium just this year.So far they are the only family in the city tha have taken any blood test to find out why they were always getting sick.
Arsenic-linked to liver, lung, kidney and bladder cancer.
Cadmium is common in lead batteries and other industrial products. People living near hazardous waste sites might be exposed via contaminated food, dust or water.Chills; fever; muscle ache; tracheobronchitis; pneumonitis; pulmonary edema; cancer; and fatal respiratory, liver or kidney problems could result.
Chromium is used for steel making, chrome plating, dyes and pigments, leather tanning, and wood preserving. Some forms of chromium are beneficial. Certain forms of chromium, notably hexavalent chromium, are toxic and carcinogenic.
Copper is used to make wire, plumbing pipes, brass and bronze pipes, and sheet metal. Pennies made before 1982 are copper, while those made after 1982 are coated with it.Breathing high levels of copper can cause irritation of the nose, throat and eyes. Eating or swallowing high levels of copper can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Very high doses can cause damage to the liver and kidneys.
Lead is used in batteries, bullets, pipes, X-ray shields and other products. It formerly was in gasoline, paint, ceramics and caulking as well. The metal affects almost every organ, mainly the nervous system, brain and kidneys.
Manganese is a byproduct of steel making and welding to improve stiffness and strength of products. It also may be used as a gasoline additive to improve the octane rating. At high levels, it has been linked to central nervous system damage similar to Parkinson's disease, impotence and psychological disturbances.
Mercury is widely used in manufacturing processes and industrial buildings, for everything from batteries to transformers, sky lifts and large-scale light fixtures. It also had dental and medical uses.Mercury, which is extremely toxic and possibly carcinogenic, can damage or fatally injure the brain, nervous system and kidneys in small amounts. In fetuses, infants and children, it affects neurological development, memory, attention, language and other skills.
Vanadium is used to produce specialty steel alloys and in petroleum refineries. It is also part of diesel exhaust and heavy-duty marine shipping fuel.Fumes and dust can be toxic or cause respiratory illness. It's also a possible carcinogen.

-posters in maywood- letta know!!!
maywood is waiting to exhale...
i want to make 3 different poster designs, using all the metal names tha where found in the maywood martin home.
taglines- Maywood, waiting to exhale
its what you're breath
its what u breath everyday
those are just a few ideas
a list of all the toxics (8) underlining of its what you're breathing or...its what u breath everyday. in smaller font a few sentences about the facts of some health issues from exposure

maywood ad idas
after looking through the internet and observing some very interesting and crude awareness ads, i want to do one of those. so the idea is going to be pushing the issues of maywood California that if a neighbor was tested for chemicals on the body, they very might well be infected by lead or mercury in their body and not even know it.
most people might not even know that the factories they work in my be contaminating them and your family. your job is literally killing you...
i need word list-images-roughs, and rationalization of how im going to put this into a campaign

it took a while for me to choose what issue i was going to d and what city.
i kept stumbling new articles in may wood California. its about a hour and a half on the bus from my
house, about 12-14 miles and its located near bell gardens California.
i read about a family that kept getting sick and wanted to know why.
the martin family lives near so many factories and had to be tested for toxins in the body.
the sad results were that over a dozen harmful chemicals where found in their body and a couple of
family members have lead poising that came from their father from working in a plant a few years ago.
list of metals were found in their body over the years, the family has been en hauling dead animal bodies, chemical by products

50 thousands people live in just this area alone. if a group of 5 and deadly chemicals are in their body,
its mostly likely the other 45 thousand can be infected an have no idea. this small los angeles city sits
close to 2 thousand factories.
my campaign ad is going to insight may wood of the dangers the city hold. post ads in the local paper
and magazine and bill-board ads. they need to know the air they are breathing just might kill them or
the old job factory they use to work at gave some one lead poisoning

i chose the tag line nice, for a double meaning.
i chose the tag line nice, for a double meaning.
-ironic roughs-
I chose to do ironic ad designs for the paleta campaign. An ironic ad is suppose to be humours, or the opposite of its meaning. The drafts with single a paleta is suppose to be fruits shaped into a paleta with a wooden stick, i will put an ironic slogan (or attempt to) and ad logo on the bottom
the ads with fruit will have "hand" drawn limbs, interacting. The idea is to keep authentic fruit thrown in every ad, to convey the realism of the paletas. Since our logo already has a paleta in it, i didn't want to come off as redundant.

-paleta roughs-new digital roughs
top-rounghs, really rough, looks crazy.
bottom-ai. doc roughs.
-color and concept-green white red. this top logo states Mexico, but our look/concept is like a Mexican fiesta, im missing the party fun appeal.
-the bottom rough was concept comes from a Mayan calendar i found on the web, this too is in reference to Mexico, but again, missing our "fiesta" feel. I do like the look of the bottom logo despite the lack of the "party time" factor.
